History

Academic year 2008-2009:: The fifth for NDA Club Lacrosse was a season that saw some transition due to the graduation of 7 seniors. However, the signup sheet was returned in November with 55 signatures.   Conditioning started in November with the season ending in mid May.  There were 23 girls on the team.  Growth saw the addition of the first JV team and JV Coach Krista Lavoy.  Coach Lavoy was a former NDA player, who also played at Kent State.  Honors included 1 First Team All District player, 2 Second Team All District players, 1 Honorable Mention District player, 1 Second Team All Ohio player, 2 First Team All City players, 3 Second Team All City Players, and 3 Honorable Mention All City players.  In addition, Elyse Houck ’09 signed a letter of intent to play college lacrosse at Notre Dame College.

Academic year 2007-2008: Jason Allen took over as Head Coach with Coach Schaar as an assistant.  Conditioning started in October for two days a week and increased to three days after Christmas.  The program enjoyed continued growth.  Twenty girls participated and the program ended the season with a 10-6 record.  Honors and awards included 1 First Team All District player, 2 Second Team All District players, 3 First Team All City players, and 2 All City Honorable Mentions.

Academic year 2006-2007: The club benefited from more girls participating from other sports such as soccer, cross country, dance, and volleyball.  There were approximately 18 girls on the team after graduating 5-6 from the previous season. Coach Josh Schaar took over as head coach with the departure of Coach Emily Short mid way through the season.

Academic year 2005-2006: The season saw more organization and commitment.  Jason Allen was introduced to the sport as an assistant coach to Emily Short.  Coach Short had played Lacrosse at the University of Toledo for the previous five years.  The program had 15 girls with conditioning starting in November, two days a week.

Academic year 2004-2005:  The NDA Club Lacrosse program gets started with a group of approximately 8-12 girls.  There were not many games scheduled because the only teams in the area were Ottawa Hills, Maumee Valley and St. Ursula.  Player shortages were often covered by recruiting them from the spectator sidelines such as soccer players, volleyball players, and cross country runners.
